Since their seems to be a consensus that reciever covers are not good places to mount a scope, would it be a good place to mount a magnifier so it could be used with a rear sight mounted red dot sight? OR, Is it possible that a receiver cover red dot sight would work with a rear sight mounted magnifier? How close does a magnifier need to be to a red dot to work properly?
I know SKS's aren't the most accurate gun but a red dot for me would be more for quick aquisition anyway, magnifier would help for shots over 100m. Anyone have experiences/war stories about a combo like this? I like the idea of a removeable rear magnifier that is short enough to not get hit by flying brass.
Not into side mounts for a scope as I have better, scoped, long range rifles for that kind of shooting.
