I recently acquired a Gen 2 Kriss in 9mm.

I am looking around for a good, durable, simple-to-use red dot for under $300.

I was handling the Vortex SPARC AR 1... what is your impression? It seems well made, but these things are rather alien to me.

Thanks in advance.

red dot for under $300.

Unfortunately? You won't find very much in that price range. You might just want to tough it out and save up a bit more.... maybe win a PICK 3 or something, I dunno. Truth is? You simply CAN'T PUT A PRICE ON QUALITY! Either you pay for it up front or you break it and end up buying another cheap-o and you eventually end up spending the same amount. Hell maybe even MORE!

That one is $375 and that was the CHEAPEST.

For quality? I don't have any experience with the Burris. Aimpoint is the brand they have that I trust so the CHEAPEST Aimpoint is $700.

Holosun will fit the bill.

Yes they are good, have had several and still have 1.

I have a strike fire, it is good enough for what the vector is, if also co-witness' perfectly with the irons, I also like the fact you can have a red or green dot

It's what I have on mine. They do seem to be good value for the price—the one on my UTS-15 has shown no issues so far with around 100 rounds of 12 gauge slug and buckshot.

Thanks guys, I think I'll pick-up the SPARC and see how it works out. It's on for $279, and if it breaks, I didn't break the bank.

How are you enjoying your Vectors? I opted for black in 9mm, but the white was tempting me... kind of reminds me of a Storm Trooper prop! lol

I'm not a "black rifle" kind of guy at all, but the Vector really spoke to me from an engineering stand point and I'm a big fan of 9mm Luger in Carbine length barrels. It should make a fun range toy.

Why can't I fid this exact same set up with gen 1 folding g stock but in 9mm!?!?!?!??!

I'm havin a ####ing hard time finding one

You won't break the bank if it breaks, the best thing about Vortex products is their no-nonsense lifetime transferable warranty.

I purchased a Vortex PST 1-4x scope from the EE. When I got it I noticed some of the illumination settings didn't work. I sent it in and they provided me a brand new scope, the original owner had crushed the tube by over-tightening the rings.

I purchased a Sparc 2 but it didn't work for my Kriss Gen2- 45ACP... not enough elevation to shoot where I was aiming ...At only 50 yards... (like 8 inch below where I was shooting!!)
I though my Sparc 2 was broken, so I called vortex to explained the situation...with their life time warranty (no question asked) they sent me another one...same problem...
I decided to buy a eotech (much more expansive) but, now it's working. Now, my Sparc 2 end up on my CX4 and I love it...

IMO, I think it's normal for a Kriss vector to shoot low, considering the sights/red dot are up really high and the barrel is really low. It's the way the vector is designed.
