looking for advice from users with experience with the products... I want to put a red dot on my 858 which is the best out there I want to be able to clean my gun without looseing zero and something that is solid enough that it can be kicked around a bit.... What would you guys put on it?

I use an Aimpoint T1.

As noted in the previous couple of posts, go with an Aimpoint Micro...go with the H-1...no need to spend the extra dollars for the T-1.
Use one of the railed, upper handguard replacements and have the best of both worlds...reliable, return to zero, combined with iron sight co-witness.
You are stuck using the factory mount, but you still have the best of both worlds...red dot with no parallax issues...but also maintain use of the iron sights.

so the nea rails really work then I can take it off put on no loss of zero? i am selling my comp4 now to buy a micro but I need the best mounting solution.

They work so well, Troy Industries asked us for exclusive rights to NEA product in the U.S......... which obviously we hopped on like a fat chick on buffet, or armedsask on a fat chick, or Pharaoh2 on discount 2x4's when in the market for an extension for his existing 2x4 deck................. anyways, they work better then anything on the market.

if your looking for a micro, the vortex sparc is going to be hard to beat considering it retails for $230 and has more and superior features then any thing EOtech has to offer.

I have a TRS-25 on the NEA rail. It holds zero and returns to zero after removal.

I've never noticed any significant deviation from zero after reinstallation.
