Red Dot or other options on Marlin 45-70

From a post on FB, the guy is in Germany & uses a couple Marlins in 444 for wild boar.

I got the peep site on 1 and a scout scope on the other.Just wondering about trying a red dot or ???...

Is there something lacking with your peep sight and scout scope options? Not saying you shouldn't try a red dot, just curious about what you're trying to get from something different.

Not lacking anything just never tried a red dot and want to know how they would work on a lever gun.Maybe better in low light or around camp in the dark?
