Just scored a NIB Ruger 10/22 takedown. While I wish Ruger had put the fiber optic sites on this rifle I find the iron sites on it perfectly servicable.

However, I've been toying with the idea of also getting a red dot site for this rifle.

My choices are the Bushnell compact TRS-25 and the Tasco Red Dot site.

Thoughts???

Not altogether really too familiar with red dot scopes.

Would just be for fun/plinking, though. With the option to easily switch back to irons.

I have a barska red/green dot on my nylon 66. I looked at the tasco it seemed low quality. I used the barska three times and liked it then the dial on the side that you turn to adjust the size of the dot came loose and now it dosn`t work. Took it back and they sent it back to barska so I will see how thier service is. nut n fancy has a review on you tube on the bushnell you are looking at.

I picked up the Tasco from Canadian Tire for $49 and put it n my new 10/22 TD. I zeroed it at 25 yards ran about 500 rounds through and it's still bang on. The gun fits in the bag with the sight mounted and taking down the gun does effect accuracy.

I don't like the way the sparc's buttons are so easy to bump. Easy to bump on and also bump into NV mode which will make you think the optic has failed till you realize it's swithed modes because something grazed the button......
To turn it off you have to push and hold for a few seconds so it won't bump off but they should fix it and make all the power and mode buttons push and hold.
