hey all, I'm looking for options to put a red dot sight on my commander model 1911 with the 4.25" barrel, any info on mounts and sights would be greatly appreciated, thx

This is my 1911 set-up. The Norkie is fairly recent, but the mount and Tasco Dot Scope are 22 yrs old. I saw a similar mount on Ebay a few years ago, similar scopes are available at Walmart.
Mount installs in minutes, it replaces the left grip. Very secure and solid mount.

EDIT: Found these sold listings on EBAY that completed just a few days ago!

 :puke:
If you don't want to drill holes in your frame or cut your slide the above is what you are stuck with
C-more serrendity has the mount built in or you can get a slide ride and pick
your mount. Double-tap sports makes a good one for a traditional set up. The new trend is for the side ways mounts like those from cheely custom gunworks. you can also cut mount the smaller sights, RMR, STS,Doctor, right onto the slide

ok thx guys, i had seen one that mounted to the frame in front of the trigger guard that wraps around the slide that i was interested in, have you seen anything like this or know if i could use it? i have a norc 1911 commander
