Yeah I know... It's already been discussed, but I couldn't find the exact answer for my situation so here goes.
Just bought another AR-15 (Daniel Defense), and plan on using it for tactical rifle, with various movement (lateral, forward, backwards), and various positions (kneeling, prone, standing). And distances from 7-100 yards, with shooting mainly under the 40yard mark. Moving and stationary targets.
I was originally looking at getting an eotech because I was under the impression they were quicker to get the reticle on target and had a wider viewing angle than red dots. But after some research I'm starting to think those advantages no longer exist or are not as apparent to the new generation of red dots made by aimpoint. And I've heard there is a big difference in battery life for the two.
My budget is about $500, used is fine. Please recommend a brand and model. (I for the life of me cant make out the difference between the various eotechs besides size and button placement)
