Generally with red dot optics you get what you pay for. So my money is on Aimpoint. Great quality optics. The 2MOA C3 model is probably the best solution for a 270.
Where I hunt is mostly short range, thick bush. Most of the boys I hunt with are using 270, 3006 with a red dot. They do very well. Just wondering what a decent one would cost?

A decent one will cost as much or more than your rifle. The $30 Tasco ones are hit and miss. They may last a long time, or implode quickly...Unreliable in a word.
