Red Knob Tuna Can vs EC Tuner V2 - Whats Your Experience

I will ask one of the precision guys from my club that has a Red Knob on his 457 shooting SK Rifle Match ammo if he has to tune and retune each time out. And I will take note and discuss with others at a precision competition this weekend and see what their experience is.

You absolutely do not need to re-tune every time you take the gun out... the tuner is literally there to adjust the harmonics of the barrel to the given load. IF you switch loads/lots, you may need to make an adjustment.. or you may not need to.

Spoke to two Tuna Can owners at a PRS competition yesterday and both concurred that the tuner works for them, tightened up the groups for that lot of ammo. But once you changed ammo you’d have to do a reset, which makes sense. However, they also said other rifles they use which shoot tight groups wouldn’t benefit from a tuner.

I got my 6.5 cm rifle and tuner to shoot two 3 shot 100m in the .1’s. ( center to center ). At 300m it was a not awesome 1.5” 5 shot group. Going to try again soon, this time adjust it at 200 and 300. I’m still not sold that when tuned, it’s good for all distances.

glad you come to some sense about this.
mark my words: people who own tuner(s) will tell you how good/amazing they are and how much difference they make, regardless whether it's true or not.
I am the only one who owned 3 and still own 2 tuners and tell you this: you are better off with a washer or a nut which you can buy a dozen for $2 from homedepot
And those who said tuners are good stuff will refute my claim by saying: 1. my tuners are piece of crap, or 2. my rifles are crap, or 3. the ammo I use are crap, or 4. my shooting skill is a crap, or 5. I don't know how to use tuners, or 6. all of above.

Why bother when you have obviously found your own faults? As for buyng nuts in thread patterns of most rifles from Home Depot Im caliin BS on that one.
