I recently picked up a Ruger Red Label 20ga with a 1982 manufacturer date. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe this is before they offered adjustable chokes? Anyways mine is threaded (probably aftermarket)and came with two Colonial tubes in it. I'm wondering if these barrels will match any other choke thread pattern or will I have to track down more Colonial chokes?

I recently got an old 870 Wingmaster, and it was equipped with an extended, Colonial tube in it meant to shoot steel shot, MOD. Apparently, because of the wall thickness (or lack of) on an old 870 Wingmaster, the choke-tube options are limited. I could check/confirm, but I believe the ones I had to order from Colonial were called "thin wall" tubes. I called Colonial and someone in charge answered. (owner?) Told him what I had, he said it would shoot STEEL modified, but not lead. I wanted to end-up with FLUSH-fitting choke tubes, both MOD and FULL for shooting #6 and #7-1/2 lead shot. The fellow who answered the phone said they ship to Canada, and I gave him my shipping address and payment info over the phone. I think my 2 tubes were in the mail box less than 2 weeks later. Nice company to deal with, and the tubes look excellent.
