Op rod spring and guide popped out of its mounting slot as the op rod spring catch slid back and allowed the spring and guide to jam the rifle. This causality occurred in my new Sage EBR stock. Apparently this is common in this set up. To correct the problem and to stop it from happening again I used red Locktight on the catch mechanism. Problem corrected. However if I wish to break the weapon down (gas system and op rod) how do I overcome the locktight? Will the heat from a small butane torch allow me to remove the op rod catch and dismantle:confused: the op rod guide and spring?"

Red lock tight needs high heat to loosen it. It should work with your torch, but if you plan on heating your action, bolt, or barrel, think again. If you dont want to risk it, try a hear gun.

Did you replace the op rod guide pin with a GI length pin, or did you perform the Popsicle stick mod the keep the short pin from walking out?

I would not use a torch, and if you need to move/remove the connector pin lock, I would use a soldering iron. Get it very hot, hold the tip against the connector pin lock and it should break the loctite.

I could only imagine this being a common problem if its a norinco with the shorter connecting pin lock. The norinco pin will walk out in a EBR; if its a norinco you will need a USGI pin or do the popsicle stick mod. USGI pins run about 3 bucks so I would go that route.

No popsicle stick I probably bubbubed it, just red locktight. Will take everybody's advise and no torch. Just a heat gun. I got one that I used to use on RC aircraft shrink wrap covering back in the day.
