I recently lost my red fibre optic rod on my front sight and could only find a green replacement. I am kind of liking the green colour better than the red. However, I've only used it once in competition and was wondering if you have any positive or negative experience with either colour rod? I am more concerned about seeing the 'dot' on a shady day or when the sun is right in front of my face.

Based on the light spectrum, green has the widest light band and red the shortest. That's why green will look brighter in poor light conditions. Most of my friends use green but sometimes personal preference wins. One other thing, most IPSC targets work with green but if you use other colored targets red may be better.

Depends on the color sensing cones of your eye. We all see things differently. Trying the different color options personally is the only way to choose the best

I prefer red or orange over green.

Tried for years to shoot a F/O front sight. Turned out I couldn't do it with a red one; it had to be green.

Seems many years of shooting electronic red-dot sights ingrained on me that if I saw a red dot on the target; squeeze the trigger - regardless of where the dot was.
(and it needed to be inside the rear notch...)

Shooting Green now - works great!!!

Not a question.

Italian has the orange but in the wrong size. Orange looked good though in the light.

It seems like green is flexible and works. It is easy to swap them out but I am kind of leaning towards keeping the green. I recently bought the red finer optic rods, but if the green works better for me, I will get more of those.

Thanks for all the feedback.

I tried red, green, orange, yellow, blue.
Out of all, green is the best for me, red is distant second.
It happens human eye is most sensitive to green color too, just do some reading on this color sensitivity.
