Jim, that colour of recoil pad has been considered red for over 120 years.

Pacmyer makes pads 1/4” -1” in all model the only 1 1/4” pad is a trap pad and it is vented

Yesterday I purchased a Pachmayr Decelerator black pad at The Calgary Shooting Center. It's a low-profile, measured .600" thick, which will be installed on my recently acquired rifle. I did not see any red pads hanging on their wall, however I wasn't looking for the colour red, maybe give them a telephone call. The price was $61.00, plus GST.
