Anyone have experience with the VLD bullet seaters.
For more consistency I decided to try the micrometer adjustable seating stem made for the VLD. I did a bit of measuring prior to using and found with the 6mm seater there is close .176 thou or 3/16ths of an inch space from the point to the bottom of the seater. This tells me the seater is on the bullet and not pushing on the tip of the bullet, which we know can be a variance.
I had set the seating depth at 1.782 for my Berger 95gr VLD, I made a 5k adjustment according to the marks on the micrometer to 1.787 then came back to original setting to see the consistency and accuracy of the micro adjustments and everything turned out bang on the mark. Very impressed. This set up will make it easy to increase the length of bullets into the grooves if desired without the constant adjusting of the standard seater. Im sure I will be getting a couple more for my .308 and .223
