does anyone know if you need lube with the redding bushing dies if the carbide kit is used? i only ask because i have heard yes and no answers and cant seem to get a straight answer and the no lube part is the advantage i am looking for particularly in fl sizing. if there is no lube needed does that go for neck sizer and full length or neck only????

You don't need to lube necks with carbide bushings, but lube will be needed to full length re-size cartridges. If you were neck sizing there's no need to lube. For bottleneck cartridges.

Straight walled pistol cases will size properly without lube in titanium carbide "kit" dies.

Lubing the neck isn't required to keep them from sticking, but it can help reduce neck runout. I find that it does...

From Redding's FAQ section:

Other factors that can improve concentricity:

-Lube case necks, even with TiN coated bushings.
-Partial size case necks. Sizing 1/2 or 3/4 of the neck seems to be the most popular.
-Try flipping the bushing over. We like to install them with the letters down to start with.
-Trim cases mouths square so they will enter the bushing straight. Don't forget to chamfer the case mouth, inside and out. This is very important as it eases the entry of the case mouth into the bushing, and the bullet into the case mouth.
-Anneal case necks. Cases that have been fired many times work harden and this causes excessive spring-back of the case necks.

If you decide to lube the necks the Redding Imperial Application Media is a great product, I have used it for a few years now.
