Hi Daryl, I did a bit more research and my first answer was incorrect. I have come to understand the markings M5 and W5 on a Redding full-length die are simply internal production codes used by the company for manufacturing and inventory purposes. They seem to have no bearing on the function, specification, or caliber of the die itself.
Redding confirms that the last two characters (or similar codes) on their dies are for "Internal Use Only". The actual caliber and die type (e.g., FL for Full Length, NK for Neck Sizing, SB for Small Base, etc.) are marked separately and clearly on the die body.
