I have a Redfield target scope - 24X and I believe that the model is a 6400. It has an AO with a locking ring and a separate ring for adjustment. There are 2 scales of yard markers (one on the body and the other on the adjustment ring) and although I believe that I know how these should be lined up, I need some confirmation.
One of the scales (one on the body) has a V on top of the number (the vertical position of the V varies with the yardage) and the other scale (on the rotating ring), strictly a vertical line (l). Each scale has the same yardage points.
Although I have never used the scope, I believe that the AO is adjusted by rotating the adjustment knob until both the upper and lower scale for each yardage point line up with bottom of the adjustment ring or the bottom end of the vertical l either sitting at the bottom of the V or at the top of it .... this is what I need to know.
I could provide pictures but if you are familiar with the procedure to adjust it, my explanation should be sufficient.
I bought the scope used (late 70 to early 80 vintage) and have not been able to obtain a manual. I have been able to find an adjustment procedure on the Internet but the info is of little value. It basically tells you to rotate the adjustment CW for closer range and CCW for farther distances.
Thanks for any info you might have,
