Redfield Counterstrike

My friend got one on a package upper he bought through IRG (I think). I used it a couple times. It was ok, but pretty big and bulky. He couldn't use the laser on his as the FSB occluded it. Got a higher mount to clear it, but then it messed with the cheek weld. He eventually sold it and bought an EoTech.

One of the nicest, clearest reasonably priced red dot optics (better glass than Vortex Strikefire, which I have), but the built-in laser sight is goofy and the whole package is just too big and bulky. I'd go with a Holosun 503c or 515c (when the 515c become available - should be any day now), or perhaps a Vortex Sparc 2 or Bushnell TRS25.

Okay, thought I should follow this up since I bought one at P&D about a week and a half ago.
I mounted it on an LMT upper that I purchased from a member here. can't say anything about laser sight capabilities as the gas block/front sight on this one blocks line of sight of the laser. What I can say is that other than being a pain in the butt to turn off, it works well. I will probably transfer it over to my other upper when its problems are sorted, but for $200, I'm happy with my purchase.

I have had one for about a year now. I bought it from a fellow CGNER for about 150 shipped. Only reason I bought it was 1. Needed a reddot for my cqa, and 2. I have other redfields on some hunting rifles and I am please with these scopes. All that I can say is that a bought it with the intentions of trying to break it, not abuse it but certainly not baby it, and it has held up so far. If you can get past the weight and goofy laser, it is actually hard to beat for the price. I own an eotech and have shot plenty of aimpoints. I am not about to tell you it is better then those but I can say, in my opinion the glass is as good a the vortex spark, a little better then the strikefire, and more robust then both of them. So if you don't want to spend a lot of money but looking for a qualility optic, buy it and don't look back. Only real downside is it is a little high to co-witness back up sights, you can do it but just barely.
