Ok, now you guys made me get out of bed, I hope this matter dies with this post. Seeing as Leupold is saying they are made in the US, the way they built them as compared to more expensive scopes, is believable to me that they can indeed be made in a plant by our friends to the south.
The ONLY thing the boxes and paperwork say is "Printed in the USA" while the scope is marked simply with a 2D bar code and "Redfield" and on the bottom "REVOLUTION 3-9x40". Not one mention of made in China.
I will note, the adjustment cover are made out of a molded plastic, not turned steel, the lenses can accept Leupolds accessories, and since to my eyes they are not as clear as the more expensive scopes, they could be lenses that would normally have been thrown out, hence free to Leupold. Not to say they are bad lenses, they rival scopes in the 400$ range, but they are not the lenses used on 700$+ Leupold scopes.
Over all for 200$ you can't go wrong, so go to your local dealer or give P&D Ent a call and try it out.
