Redfield Widefield scope

I saw a picture of a Redfield scope that had a square objective lense. I thought it was neat when i saw it but didn't have a use for it then and it was in mediocre shape. Now I am thinking of a new project that it would be really good for. Can anyone tell me what scope that would be? I am also open to ideas on other scopes with the same sort of character for a classic hunting rifle with a bit of a twist to it.

Any help is appreciated.

I found my answer. It is a Redfield Widefield Scope. If anyone knows of one or has any other neat ideas please post or PM.

On the 30-06 on top...
I think its a 4-12?... maybe? I dont remember. Objective and eye piece are more like rectangles then squares though.

Yeah it is more of a rectange then a square.

Does anyone know much about these scopes. Are they a good scope? Anything good or bad about them?

Got 2 of them 2x7 with the old TV screen view. Nice glass, Nice reticule, I like them.

Nah, not looking to sell it. I like it, works well on the rifle.

E bay good ones about $200.00 us .
I have one that is spotless with fine target sights with dot.(2 to 7) tv on both ends.
I might be talked into letting it go?
Have another I am going to mount on a rifle.

I believe Weaver sold a similar wide lense scope back in the day as well. - dan

I've got a fixed 4 power with the TV screen. Those old Redfields were hot stuff back in the 70's but lens coatings have improved so much that I can't see useing it now. Tough old buggers though. I'd let this one go cheap.
