Redfield

For those that might be concerned about "scope eye" from that sharp eyepiece the Leupold rubber eye guard fits the threads on the 3-9x40 redfield.

just a heads up for everyone. while their lenses state they are fully multi-coated, their prisms remain uncoated. I was curious about that so I sent a message in and they confirmed their BAK4 prims are not phase coated. kinda sucks...but not that big of a surprise considering the price point.

If you take it out during legal light on the north slope I almost guarantee it won't matter. These are "working man's" hunting scopes, made to last and not cost a weeks wages. I am glad to see the old name resurface in the USA. I used an old Redfield 3x9xtelevison screen for years when I first started hunting. A friend I used to work with has it now on his hunting rifle.
I think those 4-12's would look sharp on a Stevens in 223.....

you underestimate the importance of contrast in the bush, which is primarily what phase coatings enhance.
