Now that I know that a "Super" Redhawk never came with a 5 1/2" barrel, I have reworded my question :)

In .44 Mag, on a scale of 1 to 10, how much more recoil will a Redhawk 5 1/2" have, over a Super Redhawk 7 1/2"? Generally speaking.

I have a Super Redhawk with 9 1/2 barrel and it's a pussycat ;) Just don't limp wrist it...

I'm sure the extra 2" of barrel would help with recoil some, a little, maybe... Also depends heavily on the load you're using.

My 5 inch SRH Toklat Alaskan is coming soon, i should report from this 5 incher in 454 Casull... JP.:runaway:

I've shot my buddy's 7 1/2" and had no problem with it, in fact it was FUN :)

Nope, not in the Super Redhawk, unless you are thinking of a one off custom like the SSK beast or other. Wish i was wrong as i've wanted one like that but the 5" talo in 454 is the only 'close to factory' 5 I've seen in 25 years.

You are correct, it is not a Super..........I made a booboo :)

I have both lengths in the regular Redhawk in 44 and the 5.5 has only slightly more recoil. It is far more pleasant than a 4.2 629.

I used to own a 5.5" Redhawk in 45Colt ( and stupidly sold it). I mostly ran a 255gr on top of 10.5gr of Unique and it was a breeze to shoot. But, when loaded on the (warm) side with a stout dose of H110 and a 335gr LBT, she became a fist full of fury approaching Casull specs.
