I'm not trying to insult your redhead scope, but I would'nt even put one on a .22lr rifle. My hunting partner had a redhead 3x9x40 on his ruger 10/22, and I had the exact same ruger 10/22 with a $60 bushnell rimfire 3x9x32, and after you looked through his redhead & then looked through my $60 bushnell, it made my $60 bushnell look like it was a $400 leupold.....it was that much clearer & bright, with half as much blinking effect, compared to his redhead scope....he took the redhead scope off, and put it on his kids pellet gun......just my honest opinion, sorry, but redhead scopes blow.
If you wanted a cheap alternative, then I would look for a cheap bushnell 1x4, 1.5x5, 2x7, or 3x9x40 banner. Best bet IMHO, would be a $100 bushnell red dot, because your max range with a 30/30 is aIbout 150 yards, so no magnification, or low magnification is all that you really need for those ranges. If it was me personally, I would try to find a used red dot or 1x4 powered scope for under $100, or spend $60, and buy a set of williams fiber optic fire sights, because a lever action rifle is nice light, well balanced bush gun, thats nice to carry, and putting a heavy scope on it, kind of changes a lever action rifle in a negative way....and especially with a crappy redhead scope that can't be trusted....so sorry, but that scope is the last thing that would match with a marlin 30/30 lever action....a inexpensive red dot or 1.5x4x32 scope would be a much better match, if your wanting inexpensive optics that would belong on your marlin.
