reduce load in revolver How low?

Hi am working on a light load for my revolver in 44 and 38 too.
I have great result ( acuracy) just under the data load and i am realy curious to know how low can i go under establish load data? I know it's a dangerous path for slow burning powder in riffle but, for faster pistol powder is there a danger zone too?
For a pistol if you go to slow the action wont cycle, but in a revolver, can we go as low as the bullet wont get out of the canon?!

Any one have found some answer somewhere on this?

Try some TrailBoss loads, I have had great success with it in my rifles for reduced plinking loads. I don’t have a revolver but if I did you bet I’d work up a load with it as well!
 
For .38 special I load 2gr trailboss under a coated 100gr swc bullet seated 3mm below mouth of case, do not compress powder! Aprox 650fps 6” barrel, very accurate in my revolver used for bullseye competition.

I've seen almost the same used with very good effect in PPC, and I understand SASS is another big user of light Trail Boss loads.
 
I've been loading red dot for my steel challenge .38 loads. It likes to bridge, and when I was trying to load as little as 2ish grains, I'd get squibs more often than I'd like, haha. Got really good at clearing them though, I was able to clear one and finish the string under the 30 second time limit once Laugh2

So yes, squibs are a definite possibility at lower powder charges. Powder check die or manually weighing charges recommended.

I dhould try it than! What us the bullet di you use? Sis you cast them yourself?
I had never seat a bulelt under the case mouth, how to acheive a low seat like that? the seater will stop at the mouth?

I had bought one to give it a try.
I am asking how low i can go because i have a lot of bullseye. Purchased 2 complete kit from old reloader around me and i thonk bullseye was a loved one haha! I realy have a lot...
 
I just got a Ruger GP100 4.2" and will be using it only for PPC right now. I worked up a few loads using HP38 for DRG 158 gr. LSWC bullets with S & B small pistol primers. Based on comparative data from a number of different sources:
3.1, 3.4, 3.7 and 4.1 Very little difference accuracy wise at 20 yards, but the 3.1 gr loads did shoot about 1 1/2" lower at 20 yards than the 4.1. All were soft shooting, but certainly the light load gave the least recoil with similar group size. HP38 has small grains so meters well, and is very clean. I will be going with 3.1 for the time being. I would like a bulkier powder, but I have a lot of HP38 to use up.
 
A little titegroup should work well. Ive used down to 2gr in a 44-40 case and got 480fps ive also used down to 3gr in 303 british cases to get about 600fps with a 200gr cast bullet. ( i had a few that didnt leave the barrel)
