Reduced load for .243

Generally, reduced loads work better with a heaver bullet. Here are some with Trailboss and a 100 gr. bullet.

There is next to no kick with that load...

Just spent last evening loading up a bunch of those for the wife's .243. I want to get her used to the rifle a bit before she has to shoot something. Started with the minimum and increased 1 gr. each step.
Will try them out next week.

If you reduced load on the 58 gr Amax you will loose possibly a big part of the accuracy, did try to bring them in the 3200fps range and groupings went south, maybe your rifle will give better results... Cheers. JP.

That should be a hint. Suggest you either change your bullet or your powder. I have done a 60 gr. pullet with ~15 gr. Trailboss.

Here is one with an 80 gr. bullet and that powder:
.243 Winchester - 80 grain Rem. PSP bullet, 25.5 grains SR 4759 powder, Rem. 9 1/2 primer, Remington case. COL 2.640". MV 2710 fps in 24" test barrel. MAP 51,300 CUP. (Based on the IMR Smokeless Powder Reloader's Guide, April 2004.)

Another 80 gr. load

Update. Loaded 58grn v-max with 20 grns of SR4759 and got 2430fps and 1.8" groups at 100yards from a Browning BAR. Wasn't enough pressure to fully cycle the action though.
Thanks for the input
