I seem to recall that Hodgdon powder used to list IMR 4895 for their 60% reduced loads and now they only list H4895. I've emailed them but no response. Do any of you have the same recollection? I think they even had a pdf of the data sheet at one time. I'd be thankful one of you could either post it or send it to me.

I've used the 60% rule with IMR4895 and have talked to various old timers who have as well; no mention of any issues whatsoever. I've also of course done it with H4895 as well.
I've only ever seen Hodgdon mention H4895 in any documents about the 60% rule though.
 
My Hodgdon manual #26 states: " Our H4895 performs similar to most lots of IMR4895." I don't see anything about reduced loads nor to I remember seeing it before, which doesn't mean it doesn't exist!
 
I seem to recall they used IMR about 10 years ago or so. Interestingly, prior to that, there were numerous IMR4198 reduced loads. I have an old Speer reloading manual that has numerous reduced loads using that powder.

Like you, I seem to remember that at one time IMR4895 was on the pdf as well as H4895. I have used IMR4895 loads reduced to 60% a lot. Call them and ask if you want to be sure.

If you look at there load data for 303 British there is no min load for IMR 4895. They do list a min load for H4895. That for both 150 and 180 gr bullets.
 
i recently ran a test with my Norec M14 to see how mild I could load before it would not cycle. A normal load was 44gr of 4895. I made 5 rounds each. in 1 gr increments, all the way down to 25g gr Every one cycled just fine. I did not shoot them for accuracy.
 
Well I got a response back from Hodgdon:

We say to that you can only use the H4895 powder to do this. The two powder have different chemistry and will develop different pressures. H4895 ignites more easily than IMR.
