I'm looking for a reduced load recipe for a 325 WSM, i.e. 8x57 Mauser. Does anyone have any info for doing this? I want a reduced load for short range brush hunting and a practice load at the range using a 150-175 grain weight.

thanx

Practice load

The Speer manual shows reduced loads for most cartridges. For the 325 WSM they show
30.0-32.0 gr of AA5744 under a 150gr Spitz SP (#2277) leaving the barrel at 1985 to 2097 fps
That should make a great practice load.

If you go to the Hodgdon powder site , under data tab there is a section called youth loads.

The powder is H4895 which they have tested to safely be able to reduce loads by 40%. There is load data there downloadable in a PDF format.

I use this for my 300WSM and the result is mild loads that are safe & still very accurate.
