It's pretty hard to get any info on the 'net regarding C.I.L. firearms. Does anybody think it would be useful to have a section here dedicated to CIL firearms? We can have pictures, writeups, I've got an old 1972 catalogue that I can scan and submit. We can also maybe include ammo.

Thoughts?

I agree! I have a bit of info to offer too. As well as a few CILs in my gun cabinet.

CIL 310 (.22 cal bolt action - Anshutz)
CIL 950C (.270 Win - Savage 110)
CIL 212 (.22 cal semi-auto - Stevens??)
CIL single shot break open 12ga shotgun (forget make (Brazilian...) & model info...)

So Moderators, what would be the best way to handle a CIL-only reference thread? Separate section somewhere? A fine gentleman, nessy357, mailed me his old 1972 catalogue, and I've scanned one page like this.

I'll scan the rest, and then I'll post it whereever it's deemed best.

Reference section

I think a reference section would be a great idea.

Why not include all or the most common manufactures. How many times have you seen requests for parts lists, exploded diagrams, bold disassembly, history on old firearms, manufacture dates whatever. The search function does not work that well so the mods would have to figure out some method to keep everthing seperated.

I would sugggest that each area such as "CIL" be subdivided into a links section and one for general info posted by members each using suitable titles.

I have a CIL 111 (anshutz) I wouldn't mind finding more about
ie how long and when was CIL selling guns
I rescued mine from being sent to be destroyed a couple of years ago
the guy who had it didn't like the lite trigger
He kept the Cooey and gave me the 111:)

The reason for the CIL reference section is that there is almost NOTHING on them anywhere on the 'net. But there is so much already out there for Win, Rem, Browning, etc. there's no need for us to duplicate that info here.

mysticbear has a good list of the basics we should try to cover.

It is not always true, but many CIL .22 rifles were made by Anschutz and the shotguns by Savage.

I have a GPC gun parts catalogue with the cross reference numbers of some models.

That's the stuff we're talking about MD! Good find. Simple things like that, re-reference to a 'known' brand from the unknown CIL brand, and people can continue the research much easier.

Does anyone have an idea of a starting price for a 607 H? Yes, I know it would depend on condition, but what might the starting range be?

Thanks!
