My G20 slide is taking a beating and I would like to return it to it's glory days of being solid black. The steel underneath is showing through in a few faded spots.

Would G96 bluing do it? What can I use to do this?

No, I don't think a sharpie pen is in order here

no it will not, the glock finish is not like anything use of other guns, but glock will refinish it for cheap if you send it back to them.\ but dont bother refinishing it any other way.
There is no other finish on the market as good as the glock finish other then DLC.

Thanks Simon.

Is there a canadian location/email? Does Police Ordinace do this?
i,m sure PO could arange for it to be shipped back to glock, as thats one of the jobs that the big glock guys like PO do all over the world.
I have never asked PO if they will do it but i,m sure they can.
but sending it direct may not be the smartest thing to do post 9-11
But in 2002 i send 15 G22 mags to glock to be fixed, then send me 15 new ones and i just paid $10 shipping.

I could be wrong here, but the loss of finish is not the loss of the Tenifer Process that has been applied to the slide.

Alot of people get confused with the black or green finish and the Tenifer Process

There would be no need to send the slide back to Glock unless the Tenifer Process has been disturbed.
(by the slide being cut or a gouge into the metal)

As I understood from the Glock Armorer's Courses that I have attended, the final finish was just a black or green Phosphate Coating and the parts where still protected by the Tenifer Process.

The Tenifer Process is almost diamond hard as I recall.

In other words, if the Tenifer finish has not been disturbed, any good blueing shop could refinish your slide!
