Hi guys

I just wanted to ask if theres a way to get a nice shiny look back on my Mosin nagant with out having to sand and refinish the rifle. I dont want to lose the original color of the stock and lessen the value of the rifle. As you can see in the pic there the front hand guard is pritty worn. Is there anything I can do or should I just leave the rifle as is ?

That's actually still pretty nice.
You could keep it original, I would.
Seeing as they are sub $200 you could really
Do whatever you want to and not feel too bad, but
In here it would be blasphemous. ;)

Indeed, it's not bad looking as it is. Mosins looking perfect would be weird (exept the unfired Polish of course...)

The rifle is finished with shellac. You can use good quality shellac and just give it a thin coat. That way, you would even out slightly some of the imperfections while staying on the authentic side; it could be seen as "maintenance", and not bubba'ing; opinions may vary...
