what would any recomendations be on making a scuffed up scope look new again......spray bomb, airbrush or ???....what has anyone else tried with good success...it's currently matte finish, would like to stay the same if possible.....Arma Coat or Dura Coat...should be alright I would think:confused:

Thanks for any help and info in advance

Well, anything that requires heat curing would be out, as I doubt any scope will survive 350 deg. F for 30+ minutes. That leaves the various air-dry sprays such as Aluma Hyde II or similar epoxy or lacquer finishes. Possibly a matte automotive lacquer?

Using Arma-Coat would be a good choice and our prices prove that too, You can refinish about 4-6 scopes with a 4oz bottle for $17.99 and have a permanent finish. Need any more help finishing optics give us a call. All of our products are air curable or can be baked, Whichever is more convenient for the customer.

Very impressive! I thought Arma-Coat was a baking finish only- my mistake.
Is there much difference in durability between air-cure and baking?

No difference in strength if you give it an air cure or heat cure. Whichever is more convenient for you. And yes to refinish an scope is $125.00 plus shipping. Our turnaround time is 1 week or less.

if your looking for a durable cheap satin black finish ty 3m trim paint. avalable in a spray can for about $15 from aclands or lordco. almost any place that has auto refinish materials have it. its designed for exterior trim and looks pretty good. one can would do about 10 scopes. it can be used over steel , aluminum, plastic. it takes a week to reach maximum harness. i have done a couple of old but rough looking scopes about a year ago and they are holding up well.
