Refinishing CIL/Anschutz 310 Stock?

I have a 310. The metal is excellent, but the wood is not. It isn't terrible, but it has a few dings and scratches plus some crazing in the high gloss factory finish. I am thinking of stripping it and refinishing with tung oil instead, for a deeper look to the grain (which is pretty decent for a factory stock) and a less shiny, non-plastic look.

Any reason I shouldn't do it?

Not really... If you like the rifle and are not planning to sell it as a "collector"... might just as well do it. Personally, I prefair the oil finish to the laquer.

The 310, it that the repeater?
