Hey everyone,

I want to refinish my CZ, but I'm not sure which blasting compound to use to remove the old finish. Should I use the sand compound, glass beads, or something else.

**EDIT**
I'm not sure if I read it wrong, or what, but I think someone mentioned that the receiver on this rifle is made from aluminum, so I checked every part of the rifle with a magnetic pickup tool, and every part of this gun response to the magnetic tool except the gas port/tube.

Also, I'm wondering how to remove the safety lever. If anyone could give me any info, I would really appreciate it.

Regards,
Zygy

80 to 120 grit aluminum oxide for blasting media.
Silica sand and glass beads won't rough the surface up enough.
What type of finish are you planning on using?

Thanks for all the help and suggestions. I will go ahead and sandblast it and I think I will use semi gloss brake paint, which is very tough after baking for an hour or so.
