Refinishing data stamps

So ive been working on an old marlin 1893. All the date info on it is pretty wore, still able to read it but not very well. What is the best way to remark all the info or am I even able to do that?

There are guys out there that will happily sell you stamps to reproduce all the markings.

Expensive.

Outfits like Turnbull Restorations can justify the expense. I can't.

I would be inclined to re-stamp the markings somewhere not immediately visible, but duplicating the information....

If you can find a jeweller who isn't afraid of guns and has decent engraving skills they should be able to refresh the markings with minimal effort.
