Refinishing/Sterilizing - Norinco

Hello,

I have a Norinco 1911A1 Government .45ACP. One of the newer blued ones.
I really enjoy shooting this HG and have been considering selling it recently (but now having second thoughts).

Questions:
1. Has anyone had their Norinco markings removed (eg. Made in China, exported by Norinco, etc) and re-parkerized with black Teflon coating or similar?
2. Were you happy with the end result?
3. Any pics and recommendations on who can do it and cost?

I had a discussion with a well known Smith and he was kinda hesitant saying that the markings may be too deep and may cause discolouring in the final finish.
I'm not looking for perfection because I want to shoot it (and not be a safe queen) but I do want a decent job done.

ARMco offers a blanking service.

"Norinco Blanking" - erase all references to China and Norinco - all that's left is the serial number and a lovely new blued finish.

You should remove the roll marks yourself, then smooth out all the sharp edges and blend the metal to your liking, then send it to Murdoc to get it blasted, parkerized and then painted....
