Finally, NOT a refinishing a chu-wood/wood/fiberglass stock thread! (j/k)
Well, I'm one of the few crazy enough to invest about 8 times the price of the Norinco M14 in mounts, optics, stocks and other goodies, but now that the rifle is about to become a "black gun", I find the original parkerizing way too greyish.
I'm hesitating between two possible options :
1. Having the barelled action sandblasted and reparkerized with a darker tone (closer to black)
2. Having the barelled action Arma-Koted (sp?) with a darker tone.
In both cases, I'm totally unfamiliar with the finished product, so I am wondering if any of you had some input on which would look best, and which would last longer (resistance to wear). And finally, would there be any negative effect of applying either of the subcited treatments to the Op-Rod?
Any info will be greatly appreciated.
