Reflex Red Dot

I'm new to optics entirely, and have so far only bought and used guns with iron sights. Just bought a Tavor and looking to put a reflex or red dot sight on it. Mainly for plinking, target shooting under 100m, but possible future coyote/small game, etc.

I think I prefer the idea of the open "head-up" reflex style Vs. the tube style red dot.

What should I look out for? Any brands that are good value? Any that I should avoid? Any particular reflex sights that are recommended?

I've heard great things about C-more reflex sights but I have no experience with them. Check out Eotech they have a great sight picture. Don't cheap out on optics after spending big bucks on a Tavor.
 
Eotech looks cool because of the AA battery compatibility. Only 800 hours though... But I may go for that one! Will see if anyone suggests any others.

Also, what about cheaper reflex sights that are still of good/pretty good quality for some of my less expensive guns?

I use an NCStar DB4 reflexive on my crossbow. They were about 100 bucks when they came out big (10 or so years back), can usually get them now in the 40-50 buck range.

Have also mounted it on my shotgun (870 Rem) when shooting buckshot and it held up well to the recoil.

I like the reflexive because you can shoot with both eyes open - great short range (sight), but it is very much a "sight" - no magnification at all.

(the "artists conception lines" are there because I was showing another crossbow hunter how I get some "BDC" function from the sight - obviously not applicable here).

If you buy a c-more or NCStar, you need your head examined. NCStar is absolute garbage. C-more is stuck in the 80s and works well on old mans IPSC race guns, but that's it.

Trijicon RMR would fit the bill nicely. Aimpoint Micro is the best small optic you can get, but it is a tube style (not that it should matter).

For less expensive sights I would have a strong look at thebHolosuns. They very closely relate to an ampoint with a very large gap in price difference!
 
what one would be best for a slug gun .with in a reasonable price range .I have been thinking of going this rut for deer and turkeys .I seen a few guys at deer camp had them on there 308 Remington autos and really liked them Dutch

Different people determine the term reasonable differently. Your going to have to list your preferred budget.
 
I just put the archangel kit on my ruger 10/22 I am wondering if any of you have had an experience with the g36 carry handle for airsoft rifles and if so do the first fit the nomad kit and second are they sturdy enough to use on a .22 I know there isn't a lot of recoil with a .22 obviously but I want to make sure I am not going ot spend my money on something that will just break shortly after is all.
