reforming 3030 into 3240

Hi there first post for me on this site.
I ran a few 3030 cases through the 3240 dies and they look ok at least they look the same as a factory 3240 just a tiny bit shorter, but it took a fair amount of muscle to push them into the die (I did use case lube).
The questions I have are is it best to take the neck expander out of the die for the first pass or just do it all in one pass.
The other question is do I need to fire form the cases before I stuff a cast bullet in or can I just load some low velocity charges with cast bullets(I want to shoot indoors and has too be under 1000fps at our club)
I plan on using Unique or Trail Boss powder.
I will load heavier charges for outdoor shooting as well (different powder)
Rifle is a very old Winchester 94 (1896 manufacture date)

I would say you are good to go, you might want to lube the expander ball up with a dry lube so it runs smoother, just load it up with your cast bullet and enjoy.

Might be a little while before the range report I just have to get some cast bullets which a fellow at our gunclub says he has for me. I assumed I was getting RCBS dies but I ended up with Lee, these are the first Lee dies I have used, they seem to work fine in fact I like them with the turn in bullet seater no lock ring. What is the purpose of the rubber o ring under the lock nut and do you just screw them down finger tight in the press?

Nothing wrong with Lee dies. I load a few calibers with Lee dies. The O ring just provides friction to better hold the locknut and die at your desired setting. Finger tight, yes, as snug as possible with 2 or 3 fingers.
