Refurbished Sig 226's - who's got 'em?

Wolverine has some. They had them on display at the Brandon gun show, 3 different grades and priced accordingly.

**oh wait, these were police trade ins and not the factory refurbs... sorry if thats what you were looking for

General Guns in Windsor (Windsor Action Pistol) has a good selection. I picked up one in a 9mm, guy pulled about 3 cases out of the back so I could take my pick. Price was a little steep, but I'm a sucker and baught any how.

NAA:

I loved my P226R. Had to get used to the fatter grip after having competed with a 1911 for years. Loved the decocker and other high tech touches like the stainless slide, dovetailed sights right from the factory. The grip fit my hand well until I started to wear any gloves.

Trigger on first round (after decocking) was mushy and about 12 lbs. Something we 1911 shooters just cannot get our heads around . No problem, just shoot this pistol as a single action. Similar to a 1911 that ain't cocked and locked. Then the trigger was about 6 lbs.

I still could not get myself (it's my problem with my head, only in my head not the pistol) to tighten and center my groups. I loved the pistol. Ended up selling it for a stable full of 1911's once again.

If I had some spare change I would shoot this P226 in an IDPA match for kicks and giggles. If I ever get a teaching job in Vegas or Texas area (I have family down there) I'll be packing a P220 in a .45, single stack of course... skinnier grip, but same wonderful SIG reliability.

I miss fondling my P226R....

I ended up paying 899 for my 226 9mm. I had a buddy a little to eagar to get his hands on his new CZ 85 Combat; it's was pretty hard to try talking a guy down on a price when you've got a 'kid in a candy store' next to you.

On the plus side though it would be hard to think that barrel on the pistol I grabbed had any more then about 50 rounds through it. Put it next to a new 226 and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Very happy with my choice even if I did pay too much. Still a little cheaper then the 'Blackwater' I was checking out at Epp's for 1449, but not much when you factor in the very ###y wood grips and the extra few mags that it came with.

I know this is a little off topic but can you carry that pistol cocked for sport shooting events?

When in the holster, the 226 must be decocked and the first shot out of the holster must be DA, thereafter the 226 can be fired in SA.

When you get the command to 'load and make ready', you must decock before reholstering' with a round in the chamber and a loaded mag.

When you get the command to 'unload and show clear', again you must decock (usually dry-fire down range to prove the gun is safe unless RO is OK with decock, though not many are) with a clear chamber and empty magwell.

I have caught several new IDPA shooters not decocking before reholstering after the 'load and make ready' command. Though by the end of the night, the new shooters will usually get in the habit of decocking prior to reholstering.

Edward911 - Thanks for the info. I pretty much figured that you wouldn't be able to carry it 'cocked' since there is no way to 'lock' it given the lack of the saftey on the SIG.
