OK I have a Magpul sling on it's way and I currently have a Sling adapter on the Buffer Tube.

My question is which is better and prefered by census?

Should I go with a QD adapter set-up?

Just go with the regular sling adapter and sling?
Go with a QD set up with a regular sling?
Or buy the ASAP in conjunction with the Magpul sling?

I know that it's all pers preference however what is the most versatile method?

The ASAP sling adpt. is the only adpt. out there that gives you full transitional movement from shoulder to shoulder... The QD swivels are not useful because your MS2 sling has easy release hardware...

The Magpul stuff is designed to work together, it's kinda a no brainer isn't it????

So how often will you be transitioning from shoulder to shoulder?

I've played with the Magpul sling on their sling mount and wasn't impressed. They should have had BFG make the sling for them. :D

My biggest issue is when I moved around without my hands on the weapon, it would flip upside down and point off to my right or left, instead of staying upright pointed straight at the ground.

I'd suggest staying with a regular sling plate/Push Button or similar as it will help keep your weapon in the right position if you let go of it.

Keep an eye on your ####, if it looks like it might start to fall off, quickly get yourself a Vickers sling and you'll be ok. :p

Well I practice shooting both ways, under stress, from pistol to rifle etc. etc. It's fun, and Its useful to be able to go both ways lightning fast... I've never had the problems you mention, mine seems to hang proper and theres no binding whatsoever... to each there own I guess...

:agree:
Just takes alot of pratice but the ASAP work's nicely expecially if your a 3 gunner.

The VTAC wide padded is excellant and I like QD mounts with it if I want it right out of the way and for storage.

No it is not the only system that gives full transitional movement shoulder to shoulder, any of the dozen or so models of end plate sling mounts will work, hell ,I just mount my Vickers Slings at two close attachment points one on end plate and one on the rail system and bingo full ability to change shoulders at will.

Magpul makes good stuff but they don't have the corner on common sense.
