Anyone interested in taking a guy out to crack some gophers or bunnies?
New in this city, and have never shot a gopher. Use a .22 lever action and a new 223 wssm.

If anyone does extend me the offer I will have a box of 45/70 405's for them to try on the little devils with my Guide Gun just for fun, should you desire.

Grande Prairie did not see any gophers, well, only the big ones that I bought my 45/70 for.:D

Sealhunter, I'm in sask. as well but don't have any good gopher spots around, though i have popped a few with my 50/90 Sharps.

I might be able to work something out. But got to talk to some land owners.
There are some big gopher patches to the south of us, if you ever explore on your own.

I started a thread on regina gophers but it never got a single response, guess its time to do er again. from the looks of it there are at least five of us in the regina area so lets get together and do a road trip to lebret or avonlea and find some gophers. I heard of a place just south of avonlea that my uncle shot 100 rounds without having to move more than ten feet. also I have the number of a guy down south that literally has millions of gophers and is paying for the shells for us to come and shoot, heres the catch approx 4 hour drive. anyway I am not doing anything as I sit on EI so give me a shout and we'll go shoot.

There should be some decent shooting within a half hour to an hour you would think.

Lots of good areas but most farmers won't let you shoot them because of all the bad expierence they get from city guys or just because they have cattle out on pasture and don't like to have rounds going off near them.
Im sure you'll have better luck driving an hour or two away from the city, not mentioning you're from Regina and shooting in cattle pasture w/ no cattle in them.

Problem is no one wants to give up good gopher spots for shooting, At the local gun store TNT in Regina a poster is there with contact #s that near aneroid millions of gophers ammo supplied check it out. If anyone wants feel free to PM me I may consider a road trip.

Cool, sounds like you fellows have a good lead there :)

Just moved from Regina to Medicine Hat. I had a place that was about an hour and a half drive from the city. It was great. If anyone is interested in directions send me a PM.

Hey guys.
Digging up an old thread here but I'd be interested in meeting up for some gopher/bunny hunts.
Just joined the forum in hopes of meeting some people around Regina to hunt with as I know only one other person that does.

Just getting started with coyote calling so I'd love to get out and do that too.

I just got back from a gopher shooting expedition down to the Southwest area of Saskatchewan. I live an hour east of Regina. I was directed out to a farmer's place. I went to the house and introduced myself. He was happy to have someone come and help out. The people right around this area have been ruined by gophers. This fellow made it fairly clear that he would be happy if I was careful about not setting any fires. It is very dry down there. He also made it clear that he didn't like to see any booze being consumed while shooting. We discussed what would happen to "gopher shooting" if someone were to have an accident if there was booze involved. I don't smoke or drink, and was careful where I parked my car. While I was out shooting, I noticed some empty ammo boxes laying around. C'mon fellas - pick up your garbage!!!!! I spoke with this fellow's brother today. He pointed out some cropland that was absolutely bare, thanks to the gophers. I am talking about whole fields!! He told me he had shot about 35,000 rounds this year!!! I know where I'm going next Spring!
