Register Heirloom

I found amongst my Dads old things yesterday a .22 pistol that I think belonged to his great grandfather.

It has no descernable serial on it, but does have a numbe in liquid paper on its side.

I was wondering what my approach would be to get this registered. It's definately short enough to qualify as prohibited.

Would I have to get it deactivated?

If it qualifies as a prohib., and is unregistered, it cannot be registered. This really limits your options.

No .22rf that accepts short, long, or long rifle ammunition can be an antique.
