registering an old pistol

wondering if anyone out there knows if it would be possible to register an older pistol that has not been registered for a long time if ever , would this be possible ? if so how would you go about it if you came across one ?

Yes it can be done, if it restricted but if it is prohibited probably not.

There are many reports of folks registered such pistols
I do not recall ever seeing a report here that the pistol was seized.
That would suggest that there isn't an equal chance of seizure.

If the serial number is flagged as stolen, there would be questions.

If it's a prohib it may still be eligible to be registered provided it was registered under the old Green slip system. The only problem is you wouldn't be allowed to keep it unless you had 12(6) on your PAL

Generally isn't a problem. They want to get them properly registered. The pistol you describe should be Restricted. It may well be registered under the old green card system. Try to find that out. If not, it still shouldn't be a problem. You might be asked where it is. I would advise not moving it from where it is until you get it transferred to you and have a short term ATT to take it home. Don't contact your local police department, only work with the RCMP firearm centre.

Yes, I believe you are right. But I had said "seizure" before the OP revealed that the pistol had a 6" barrel...that was why.
