Just wondering, since I haven't acquired any firearms but had the PAL/RPAL for 6 months.
If I want purchase a restricted firearm, what process does it do exactly? or Let me rephrase, who is going to know?
I'm just saying this because the ol liberal/ NDP gun fear-mongering parent wouldn't want a gun in the house, (going to be stored in my Friend's who has a gunaholic parents instead) Basically when I register a firearm (restricted) specifcally, into my name do they call reference or inform other household members? (kinda regret using my parent as one of the two references)

Thanks,
Ying

They will call them. Also you will get an RCMP letter with your registration and LTATT sent to your house. Would be easier to lay the smack down on the folks instead of hiding it:D

trust me I tried, sad part is both my parents had firearm training while they're in High School. (Required in Taiwan at the time when China dreams of invading Taiwan n crap) And when I say they had firearm training I don't mean muskets and airgun I mean rifles and assault rifles.
Dad: Chiang-Kai-Shiek Rifle M24 aka chinese Mauser 98k, M14 (Full Auto select fire) M16A1 (selectfire)
Mom: Chiang-Kai-Shiek Rifle

Don't know what happened, but both are really really anti-gun....To the point of they refuse to even talk/ listen on it.

Depending on where you live, and the policies of your CFO, references might be called. Were your references contacted when you applied for your PAL?
Acquiring a first restricted, which will be stored somewhere other than at your residence? You might as well call your CFO and ask.
Then again, you might just want to wait until you are independent and have your own home.

They will call them? You sound assured of that. I'm trying to wrap my head around what would be said.....Hello is this little Johnny's dad? This is the CFO...did you know that little Johnny just bought a revolver?

I can't accept that. The references already provided their support on the PAL application. That is enough. Yes, two letters will come.....one for your registration and the other for your ATT....and they will be posted to the address you filed on your PAL. Anyway, I would still tell your parents you are buying a gun and if they do not want it stored in their house you have a friend who has offered to store it in his house........TELL YOUR PARENTS ANYWAY. Honour your parents with that......it's their house and you won't have to BS them when they ask what you've been doing. You'll have to explain to the CFO that you will be storing your restricted firearm at another location as well (so that the ATT shows this)............these are my personal opinions of course:)
