Hi! I recently aquired 2 rifles, an old mossberg .22 that I found at my grandfather's farm after he passed away, and a new sks and neither of them have ever been registered. How do I go about registering them without getting in trouble? I have a PAL but want to cover my arse, even though I am hoping they will get rid of the registry.

Can anyone help?

You should be able to register them easily enough. Have all details of the rifles on hand, including barrel length, phone Miramichi. You will talk to an agent who will give you FRT numbers for the rifles. Then go on line, on the CFC website and apply to register them.
Now, you say the SKS is new. SKS firearms have been imported for a while, and many were imported prior to registration being mandatory. But many have been imported since. Are you absolutely sure the rifle is not registered? If it is already in the system, you will not be registering it, you will be doing a transfer. If you are unaware of the identity of the registered owner, this could be interesting.

Well as I said, the .22 was found in a crate and no one knew it was there (probably been there for more than 20 yrs) and the SKS I know was new and was told it had never been registered........but if I need to register my rifles, then I want to cover my arse.

I tried to go on the CFC site and register but it told me that I need a verifier.........

To me this all seems kinda complicated
