Two questions for you guys:

1) When you log in to CAFC online and click "Registration" do you guys see an accurate count of how many non-restricted firearms you have registered ? For example, I own 3 non-restricted firearms (with certificates issued that I have)...yet the online system only shows "1". Should it not show "3" ?

2) I just purchased 3 restricted firearms (all store purchases), and am waiting for the transfers to go through. When they are being processed...should I see this activity online and then see the number of "restricted" firearms get updated to "3"

any feedback appreciated

How can you check to see how many firearms are registered to you? Got a link to share?

I'm not an internet dummy - but I can't figure it out... Must be the RCMP/CFC website (which is poorly designed).

done... and it showed no results. According to RCMPweb i don't have any registered guns. Maybe it would be more accurate if we were able to initiate/complete transfers online like businesses.

And I am currently waiting on 4 restricted transfers. One i sold, 3 i've purchased. And nothing shows up.

Along the same lines...
I recently received my PAL and then verified and registered 2 non-restricted guns on-line.
It tells me that the registration is approved, but do you think I would be o.k. using the guns before receiving hard copies of the registration certificates in the mail?

I really want to do some target shooting right now! The certificates are supposed
to take 2 weeks... who knows how long they may really take!

Did the online system give you the reg # etc already? Something you can print out while waiting?

Yes, I printed a page where it reads:

"New Registration Certificate Number: #######.###"

The guns do appear to be registered, but I can't find any information on using a page printed off the net to prove to the police that the guns are mine and registered. Just a bit nervous about it all.

Also, 1 gun doesn't have a serial number (Winchester 22 Model 67), which seems to be common for this kind of gun. However, my grandfather etched his SIN number on the barrel. Should I have told the CFC this?

I would think that printout should be good enough.. but you could just call the CFC to verify,

And I'd think telling them that would be a good thing.

FYI
I called the CFC today and the person on the other line said that the guns are registered, however, I'm required to have the paper that they send in the mail if I want to use the guns for hunting/target shooting.

I purchased a shotgun at our local gun dealer, he immediately went online and made the transfer, within mins he received a registration confirmation from CFC. He provided me with that copy as my temp registration proof. As long as I had that document that proved the firearms is registered, I was good to go. I also purchased a Muzzeloader in USA on my own, registered the firearm online at a local library, printed out the approved temp registration and returned to Canada, all ok. As long as you have some CFC documented proof that registration is done for that firearm, should be ok.
