Hey guys, trying to decide on what I should do. Either buy an SR-10/22, then add a few mods, or buy a regular base model 10/22, then buy a nordic stock and other add ons? Last I checked, the SR retails at aprox. $569, where as I can get a base model for $239.......Any ideas????

Cheers,

Dan

I was going to buy a 10/22.. was out of stock when I went in, so decided it was a sign, a sign to wait a couple weeks, then go for the SR-22.. which I did and haven't looked back.. trouble is, I'm already $1100 bucks in, and goin for broke! By the time I'm done, well I know you guys can relate, this is gun nutz for gods sake!

Its a love hate relashionship type of thing for me. I love gunz, but I hate being broke.
*heard that somwhere????

Sr-22 and a standard model 10/22. One for relative use or cool factor, if you are into trendy things like that. And the other one for beating on = WIN,WIN.

Or it all depends on what you are looking for in specific (hunting, plinking, pumpkin destroying, target shooting, accuracy , tacticooling etc.)
Good luck.

I personally would buy a regular 10/22 and customize it they way YOU like it....

That way it's a little more unique, and your style. Anyone can get an SR22, but not everyone can have a custom made 10/22 they way you build it! I've never seen one like my custom 10/22!!!!!

There are many custom options available for SR, don't think when you get out of the box you're done - especially since OP said he's looking to put a nordic stock on a 10/22

That being said, I think i'm going to buy a 10/22 wooden stock, just for shooting with my nephews and family trips, the SR is for me :)

Was looking to buy a used 10/22 then Archangel or Nordic set-up.

In the end picked up the SR22 for 550 + GST

Closer to the end goal for me and a few quick mod's from perfect.

Now I just have to figure out it if my 10" Charger barrel will make it illegal!

unless your stock in pinned ,a 10" barrel with a collapsable stock will fall short of the 26"

The nordic stock is going to cost more than the SR22 in Canada. The stock area that coveres the receiver alone is almost $300. Then you have to find a pistol grip, butt stock and forend stock for another $250 or more. Add that to your $250 rifle and you are looking at close to $800 to get a makeshift SR22. Then you have to scope it or whatever you want to modify on top of that.

I had this question myself until I did the research. The SR22 was made in conjunction with Nordic components to build the gun anyway so you are way farther ahead to go wtih the SR-22 in my humble opinion...

I got stock 10/22 for 250$. Boyds evolution stock 120$(they ship to Canada). Green Mountain bull barrell 200$ Nikon scope used 100$. total 670$. Shoots better then stock sr22 and looks so much cooler

An SR with that bull barrel (apples and oranges) would shoot virtually the same. Seeing as how lllalexlll was able to find a used scope and I'm sure there was shipping costs on that stock, you're looking at about the same price for his setup as for an SR with bull barrel..
