Bolt thrust issues?
You've been reading too much Terry Wieland

I didn't know much about it either until I read up on it, quite interesting stuff actually. In a nutshell when a cartridge is ignited the brass expands tight around the chamber walls, this can absorb about half the rearward thrust, the remainder absorbed by the bolt. With the WSM they ignite just as much powder as their larger siblings, but not as much brass to contact the chamber walls and more force is exerted upon the bolt. This can increase wear on the lugs and consequently headspace grows which has negative effects on accuracy.
I think the theory has merit, but I wonder just how much. I've never read any scientific tests conducted to prove or disprove it. Either way my preference is traditional gun in traditional cartridges. I'd much prefer to "lob" a 45-70 round long range, if I want something faster and flatter I'll use my bolt gun.
