Reliable 22LR ammo

Not to HiJack but there are many folks in here using the CCI SV, can someone please tell me the difference of the CCI SV in the 50box versus the 100 pack Is there a difference besides the cardboard being less expensive . Ive looked at the numbers and the sku all I have managed to do Is confuse myself. Appreciate you

There’s no difference

They 'used to be' made at diff factories. I haven't kept up with the situation lately. There were diff 'Lot #" sequences for the diff factories so you could tell where they were made. Here's an old thread ( 2008 ) on 'another world' forum about this. Just fill in the dots -> http s://www rimfirecentral com/threads/cci-standard-velocity-0032-vs-0035.251124/
Here's the relevant info - "... Specifically, I asked about the product that is available in the shops now (i.e., I wasn't asking for a history lesson, so this might not have been the case a year ago). I was told that when 0032 and 0035 are both made at the CCI facility in Idaho, they are identical. However, occasionally 0035 is made by Federal at their Minnesota plant using Federal components, resulting in a slightly higher velocity.
So how can you distinguish Federal 0035 from CCI 0035? The headstamp is C on both versions. The only way to be sure is to check the lot number. CCI lot numbers begin with a letter, e.g. "B24P16". Federal lot numbers begin with a number, e.g. "2BV593". This jibes with my fairly small sample of CCI and Federal ammo. ... "

Have always had great reliability from CCI SV and Blazer. Though mixed accuracy results between my rifles

SK STANDARD +, Match and Long Range Match have never let me down and generally get great accuracy in all my rifles.

For bulk stuff Federal AutoMatch seems pretty decent with maybe 3 failure to fire per 325 pack (generally those fire second time cycled though). Accuracy is decent in most but my Savage B22 HATES this stuff

RE the Post #45 - I checked my stash and found ALL Lot #s started with 'Letters' . 4 bricks of paper boxes bought in DEC-2023 ; 1 brick from Fall '23 ; and 3 sleeves of 100s from 2022. Maybe none being made in MN lately ?

I like the CCI SV for my bolt guns, mini mags in my semi pistols and I use Aguila super extra hollow points for everything as well and it’s been really good to me. It’s about the only ammo my M64 will cycle lol

Is there a generally recognized brand or type of 22LR round that is the most reliable i.e. when it comes to avoiding duds / misfires?
In semi-autos a buddy of mine and I prefer CCI Blazer 40gn. CCI Minimags have never disappointed me either. Those will cycle even my finicky pistols pretty reliably. On sale you can get a decent price on them.

In my 64s I polished off all the junk inside the receiver as well as using 1000g on the bolt and the 'release point' of the sear, too. Very light polish on the Sear.

S&B Canadian match. A few thousand rounds over the last 2 years and cannot remember any issues in my CZ 457LRP. I use SK LRM for matches as it is more accurate and SD is 8/9, CenterX occasionally as well and SD around 7.

Well,
I’m that guy that picks up the duds for plinking. So I get all brands. I haven’t added up which brands I see most often but I can tell you there’s a lot of 50 yd plinking in those duds. When hit the second time I get about 1 in 20 that go back to the mis fire bin for not going off. At least 50% haven’t been hit at all!
A lot of free plinking there if one has a single shot because of feeding issues. I use my Cooey model 75…

Hey Brad…I think I know you’re long lost brother. Whenever he comes up to my farm for some casual plinking he brings up a couple of dozen range rejects. After several attempts he seems to get most of them to go off and fill his bag limit of pop cans.
It’s that sense of accomplishment and smile on his face that I always remember. Carry on brother…
