Reliable Gun reliable?

Anyone have any dealings with Reliable Gun in Vancouver?
I responded to an ad of theirs listed here on the EE pages but never got a response (PM). So 24 hours later I called them and was told the gun I wanted was sold (no update on the EE page though)... So I ended up buying a more expensive pistol over the phone.
Then 8 hours later I finally get a PM back about my original inquiry about shipping costs and they did not say it was sold... So I replied asking what the heck was going on and they have not responded! That was Friday and now it's Sunday... I know they are open Saturdays so I guess they just dont really care??
I dunno... Just a feeling I should have gone elsewhere but maybe others have had good dealings with them??
Just wondering.

The guys at Reliable are stand up gents. I live about four blocks from their store. Its not very big and its elbow room only on a Saturday.... I guarantee that's why they were not able to get back to you.

Whatever you bought from them... rest assured that Shane and co. will take good care of you.

They are good for work in purchase, but their site is suck, very little updated. I am not sure over the phone mail order but in this case, you should speak to the owner, not just an employer there, because they can be very busy at week day.

They are pretty good. Not the lowest prices, but I've always had good experiences. Except for the time I forgot my license and the fellow wouldn't even let me hold any guns. Made me feel like I was doing something wrong, kinda cheezed me off.

Otherwise they are very helpful and friendly, but they are a small shop and get a lot of locals in the shop at all times. Also, I think they are usually short staffed on saterdays so the person you talked to may not have been there.
 
I've had terrific after sale service from them. I bought a used SL8 and had some trouble with it. Shane gave me a 100% refund with no headaches or hassles. I've also picked up a couple of other guns from them over the last few years, and they have always been great to deal with. I put them in the top tier for honour and ethics amongst the shops here in Vancouver(That isn't to say that the other shops are bad, but Reliable is one of the best.).

Weekends are a little tougher on them when it comes to staffing as some of their guys work up at the nearest public range.

If you did have a bad experience in dealing with them, I'd say it is an anomaly and I'm sure if you call them back and talk reasonably( ie. no yelling and screaming) to Shane, he'll bend over backwards to get it all sorted.
 
I have great dealing with them. They are busy on the weekends Shane is great to deal with. Some of the staff are new their and are not that knowlegeable on some of the guns.
 
Reliable is as old fashion family gun shop as you can get, they are not really setup to do internet sales, so they don't spend a lot of time the computer just waiting for messages or emails. specially on the weekends when customers can stack up in front of the counter like firewood. so if you see something you really want call them quick, chances are if won't last long on the rack.

They have never given me anything but great service either in person and on the phone, it's good old fashion personal service.
 
Reliable is Awesome. I have always being treated great and the sales team know their stuff.

BUT it is CRAZY busy, so if you can, go in the store, stuff sales FAST!!!! I once was there buying some ammo, and i saw a gun come in on consignment, and sold no more than 8-9 minutes after the owner finished his paperwork and left!!!

Yeah and on Saturdays, Standing Room Only!!!
 
I've dealt with the guys at Reliable at least 8-9 years. Done numerous buy/consignment deals. No issues for me.

I am totally satisfied with their service in-person or on-the-phone. Shane, who helps run the store, is also the in-house gunsmith (did the triggers on my CZ452s {no charge} when I took delivery) and is the son of the owner Dave. Counter persons Colin, Randy, Paul and John are great guys too.

Like previous posters said, perhaps Reliable is not really geared towards on-line commerce yet, that is why those things happened. Try giving them a call and explain what happened.
 
I've been in the store twice, always seem to be good friendly guys.

Even wished me luck on my test when I picked up my CORE book.
 
I've also used them. They did some service/gunsmith work for me and they were first class. I had the gun back. including shipping, in about 2 weeks.
I originally tried their e-mail service, they got back to me, but not right away. After that I used the phone. Very pleased with their service. Wouldn't hesitate to use again.
 
I tried to buy some Remington parts from them as they are a Remington warranty depot .
They responded to my first inquiry asking me for a part # after I clearly describe what I wanted . After locating the part # on Remington's web site I sent them the # 2 weeks ago
Still waiting for a reply
(but I'm not holding my breath )

yes, I have had nothing but exceptional service from them at Reliable. It does get very busy in the shop on Saturday and I try not to go there or especially call there on that day as you will wait......awhile. But rest assured,they are a very good place to deal with.
